ZAC'S ONLINE YEARBOOK

OCAA's

Suddenly March rolled around, meaning that we got to go out of town at Vito's expense for OCAA Regionals...That's where we have a round-robin with a few other colleges (there are no university indoor soccer championships) and the top two go onto the OCAA Championships...Last year we did not manage too much success, but this year we had a little more experience and a little more confidence as well...We lost our opening game 3-0 to Humber, who was a powerhouse of a team...3-0 was a fairly good result against such a strong team...We then knew that our backs were pretty much against the wall, so we sucked it up and came out hard the next 2 games that day, and ended up defeating Mohawk and Redeemer colleges...That gave us some confidence heading into Saturday's two games, and allowed us to relax a little...and relax we did! O'Toole's was the place, and rounds of shooters kept on magically appearing at the table...How much did those cost again, boys? Finally, coach Timmy cut us off, and we headed back to the hotel.

The next day we came out hard again against St. Clair from Windsor, defeating them 7-3 and moving one step closer to qualifying for the championships...We pretty much needed a tie to put us through, though a win would guarantee it...We ended up tying Niagara 4-4 in a hard-fought battle against a team which bombed us 7-2 the year before...And that tie was good enough to put us through to the OCAA Championships two weeks later in Kitchener! We had our fun in (where were we...oh yeah) Brantford or someplace around there, and we were all going to miss the wonderful aroma of the classroom which we used as a changeroom for two days!

And so we were back on the road to the Bay, but not without stoppin' in at Philthy McNasty's in Hamilton
(good call Robbie C!)...It was truly something to see...Yes, a very nice place that was...

I should have another pic to put up on this page shortly, once I pick it up from Robbie C...
It's a good one, so check back soon
